David Helfer Wells’ work has been in over fifty exhibitions and he has taught workshops at the International Center for Photography in NYC and at the Maine Media Workshops. He has received two Fulbright fellowships, a grant from Nikon/N.P.P.A., a fellowship from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and fellowship from the MacArthur Foundation’s Program of Research and Writing on International Peace and Cooperation. Yes all of this sounds ridiculously successful… and it is. Yet there is something underneath the surface that only a seasoned man in a creative field can relay. Our chat about failure made me think in a new way even days after our interview. I hope it does the same for you. His story about photographing the empty houses in 2008 is truly remarkable. Talk about turning a failure into a huge success. To learn more about David go to DavidHWells.com and check out his Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr and Vimeo.

"Amazing how you are inspiring and moving people to get into action and work their dreams. You move mountains, my friend.
Love you and what you are doing for the world."
